I know of a vegetarian restaurant in Taksim that I went to with her. The food was good. Turkish diet has a lot of vegetables and bread in it. It's only the cheap quick donners and kebabs and stuff like that that is meat. They actually eat a lot of vegetables. And yes Matt, I agree with you.
